A 1-year-old boy was killed and another person was critically injured after a police officer opened fire on a vehicle outside a Walmart in Senatobia, Mississippi. This tragic incident has been labeled as the ‘Toddler Shot Dead by Mississippi Officer During Walmart Parking Lot Chase.’
The child was identified by family members as Kohen Wiley. The shooting happened Sunday afternoon after officers responded to a reported shoplifting incident at the Walmart on U.S. Highway 51.

This event has raised significant concerns and discussions surrounding police conduct, particularly in scenarios involving minors like the toddler shot dead by Mississippi officer during Walmart parking lot chase.
According to investigators, officers from the Senatobia Police Department and the Tate County Sheriff’s Department were responding to the call when they saw two adults and the child leaving the store and getting into a vehicle.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation said officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver allegedly drove toward them and nearly hit one officer. An officer then fired shots at the car.
The vehicle later arrived at a nearby hospital, where Kohen was pronounced dead. Another person in the car was critically injured. Authorities said no officers were injured.

Family members said they are devastated and are demanding answers about how a response to an alleged shoplifting incident ended with a baby dead. Relatives questioned the use of force and said they want accountability for everyone involved.
The family has also disputed some claims surrounding the alleged shoplifting incident. They said they still do not fully understand what happened and are waiting for more information from investigators.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is now reviewing the officer-involved shooting. Officials said evidence is still being gathered and more information will be released after facts are verified.
The case has drawn attention because of the child’s age and the serious questions surrounding police use of force in a public parking lot. For now, the investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not released a final conclusion about whether the shooting was justified.
