HGTV stars Tarek El Moussa and Heather Rae El Moussa said they felt “violated” and saddened after their Newport Beach, California home was burglarized while they were away on a family vacation in Mexico. The incident reportedly happened sometime between June 6 and June 8, 2026.
According to reports, unknown suspects entered the property through the backyard and broke a rear sliding glass door to get inside. Once in the home, the burglars allegedly ransacked the couple’s primary bedroom closet and stole jewelry before leaving the property.
Heather shared an emotional message on Instagram Stories, writing that she was “disgusted” by “cruel heartless people” and that she and Tarek felt sad after the incident. She also reassured fans that she, Tarek, and their children were safe.
The couple were vacationing in Cabo San Lucas with their family at the time. Heather and Tarek share son Tristan, while Tarek also has two children, Taylor and Brayden, from his previous marriage to Christina Haack.
Newport Beach police are investigating the burglary, but no suspects had been publicly identified at the time of the report. The stolen items reportedly included jewelry, though authorities have not released the full value of the loss.
