A 16-year-old student-athlete from Ambler, Pennsylvania, is inspiring people across the country as he works toward his dream of competing in the Paralympic Games.

Chase Mayweather, a sophomore at Wissahickon High School, lost both legs and most of his arms after suffering septic shock when he was just 3 years old. Doctors had to amputate his limbs to save his life, but Chase has refused to let that moment define his future.

Despite facing challenges most athletes never experience, Chase has played baseball, soccer, and football. But track has become his true passion. Using specialized running blades, he has continued to improve, recently competing at districts and earning the chance to run at the state level.

Chase says this has been his most successful season so far, and his next goal is even bigger: he wants to compete in track at the Paralympics and one day win a gold medal. The 2028 Paralympic Games are set to take place in Los Angeles, giving him a dream stage to aim for.

His story has become a powerful example of determination, courage, and self-belief. Chase hopes other people facing obstacles will keep pushing forward and continue chasing their own goals.
His message is simple: keep going, never stop trying, and “run your race.”
